Our Scoring Philosophy

At Fantasy NESCAC, we've always believed that every aspect of a player's performance should be recognized, and that the true stars of the field are those who can do it all. We've created a unique scoring system that we believe better captures the complexity and nuance of collegiate football.

Our scoring system is designed to place a greater emphasis on holistic performance. Where mainstream fantasy football often rewards a few key positions, such as Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers, we believe that every position is crucial for the success of the team. To honor this belief, our scoring philosophy encompasses a more comprehensive range of player actions. We believe that this leads to a more complex, strategic, and ultimately more rewarding fantasy football experience.

Player Cards

Player cards are how we display the players in Fantasy NESCAC. The cards include information like position, overall value, and the players value each week of the season.

Overall Rating

We calculate each players overall rating by factoring together a number of things such as:

  • - Performance in relation to other players of that position
  • - The number of games played
  • - Consistency
  • - Average in-game performance
* overall ratings change throughout the season with player performance

Weekly score

The weekly scores displayed on the card are calculated based off of the scoring system detailed above

Drafting

We are currently waiting on a few teams to publish rosters so that we can open the draft, hopefully early next week. Once available, the league commissioner will have the ability to start your league's draft. Until then, you can research last year's players, and come up with a time that works for your league to draft. For more info about how the draft works checkout the how it works page.

What is a Snake Draft?

Drafting occurs in the form of a snake draft. Participants take turns picking players in a back-and-forth manner, which is why it's called a "snake" draft. In round one, the first person picks a player, the second person picks another, and so on until the last participant picks their player. In round two, the order reverses: the last participant picks first, and it goes back to the first participant.

Steps to Participate

  1. Locate the Search Bar: At the top of the draft board, you'll find a search bar. Use this to look up the players you're interested in drafting to your team.
  2. Select a Player: Players are displayed as rows in a table. Once you find a player you're interested in, click on their row to select them. A selected player's card will be highlighted to indicate your choice.
  3. Submit Your Pick: After selecting a player, you must confirm your choice by clicking the "Submit Draft Pick" button.
  4. Check Your Roster: Upon successfully drafting a player, you will see the player's position filled in on your roster section of the table. This helps you keep track of your team's needs and your selections.
  5. Turn Advancement: Once you submit your pick, the turn will advance to the next participant. You can see whose turn it is by looking at the table; the row that's currently highlighted indicates who is making their selection.
